Waringarri Radio 6WR receives 2007 East Kimberley award

Having just celebrated 20 years on air (22nd June 2007) Western Australia's oldest Indigenous radio station, Waringarri Radio 6WR, based in Kununurra, was acknowledged in front of over 200 distinguished guests during the East Kimberley Aboriginal Achievement Awards, as the Outstanding Community Group or Organisation Contributing to Aboriginal Community.

The Award was sponsored by Inpex, an international oil and gas company which plans to develop a world class gas and condensate reserve approximately 400 kilometres north of Broome.

Inpex is strongly committed to supporting the communities in which it operates, and was proud to be a sponsor of the East Kimberley Aboriginal Achievement Awards.
